Moving Hearts

Moving Hearts – Moving Hearts – Live in Dublin

Released in 2008

The reformed and revitalized Moving Hearts released their new album and first DVD ‘Live In Dublin’ on Rubyworks on 2nd November 2007.

Recorded at Dublin’s Vicar Street during The Hearts sold out four – night stand in February 2007, ‘Live In Dublin’ captures some of Ireland’s finest instrumentalists at the very top of their collective game. Percussionist Noel Eccles says: “There’s unfinished business! When we last played it was as an instrumental band and we always felt we hadn’t finished exploring the possibilities of our unique line-up”.

Focusing on material from their classic, genre – defying 1985 album ‘The Storm’, the new recording is a remarkable document; a testimony to fantastic musicians playing music which is unmistakably Irish in origin, but is immaculately imbued with jazz, world music and rock ‘n’ roll references.

The audio release is in tandem with a separate DVD release, which contains the whole concert and is directed by award winning Irish film-maker Philip King; as well as a bonus documentary on the history of Moving Hearts and exclusive backstage footage.

Moving Hearts are one of a handful of truly legendary and influential Irish bands. These new releases show them to be a vibrant musical force for the twenty-first century.
